Dear parents and students, welcome to Xuelian Lei Lopez's "Chinese Class" web pages.

Let's learn Chinese together!! 

       I am Xuelian Lei Lopez. I am delighted to have your child to learn Chinese with us--the most popular language in the world that more than 1.3 billion people use to communicate daily.  I hope this will be an exciting and fun class for your child not only to learn a second language but also to immerse in a foreign culture, which is quite different from the one we are accustomed to here in the US.                 

       As you all know, the economy of China grows rapidly. In order to better communicate between the two countries, the US government provides Chinese learning programs all over the nation. My hope is that as your child takes Chinese over the next few years, he/she will develop a greater appreciation and understanding for other cultures and a desire to continue learning Chinese. If the current trends continue, by the time he/she graduate from high school, the job market will definitely require more knowledge of a foreign language. This course is the beginning of his/her preparation for future Chinese study and more importantly, the REAL WORLD.
